Advent Calendars

I know you all think I’m insane but seriously you need to be thinking about your advent calendars NOW. If you’re happy with a standard chocolate one (and let’s face it most of us are!) then obviously there’s no need to panic but if you fancy something a bit different then you had better get your skates on as they’re selling out fast! As well as being LOADS OF FUN they’re also usually very good value, coming in well under the price of buying the items individually.

Here are some of my favourites…

Montezuma’s, £11.25
Since my daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease 4 years ago I’ve bought her a Montezuma’s chocolate advent calendar for Christmas. Organic, vegetarian and free from gluten, colourings, preservatives, soya and GM it really does tick all the boxes. They don’t skimp on the chocolate either! I’ve bought my daughter this one which is exclusive to John Lewis but they have other designs here as well as a vegan alternative! You really can’t go wrong with Montezuma’s.

Advent For Two, Hotel Chocolat £26
Hotel Chocolat have a variety of advent calendars but this one is designed for two! Two delicious truffles hide behind each door so you and your loved one can count down to Christmas together … Can’t decide if this is adorable or vomit inducing! 🤣

Bath & Body

If bath and body products are your thing then perhaps grab one of these! You’ll be smelling delicious all December long! All available from John Lewis.

L’Occitane, £49
Molton Brown, £165
Cowshed, £90

Benefit’s advent calendars sell out every year so be quick if you fancy one of these! I’ve yet to meet a teen girl who doesn’t love Benefit

Benefit £34.50 (worth £76+)
The John Lewis beauty advent calendar is crammed with brand name beauty products. Pricey at £149 but contains items worth £300!

You can never go wrong with LEGO. Fact.

LEGO City Advent Calendar, £19.99
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, £24.99

They also do one from that pink LEGO ‘Friends’ range that’s aimed at girls but the feminist in me simply can’t promote them.

Last year both Paperchase and iWako did advent calendars that had novelty erasers behind each door. This year I haven’t been able to find an alternative in stock anywhere but Tinc are doing a stationery advent calendar which seems really good. They don’t reveal the contents but they have sold out quickly the last two years running so a safe bet I reckon. Think erasers, pencil toppers, badges, stickers and the like!

Tinc, £28.00
Food & Drink

Pukka, £7.99

For the tea lover in your life! 24 individually wrapped organic, green, fruit or herbal tea sachets available from Pukka

The Naked Marshmallow Co. £13.00

Chocolate not your thing? Then The Naked Marshmallow Co. may have the advent calendar for you! Gourmet marshmallows that have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Ginmas Advent Calendar, noths £124.95
Everybody likes a tipple at Christmas so what about a GIN advent calendar? The Ginmas advent calendar is available on noths. I cannot tell my husband this even exists(!)

If like me you love a scented candle, particularly in the cold winter evenings, then you may want to consider the advent wreath from Yankee Candle. Contains 24 tea lights in festive fragrances!

Yankee Candle, £24.99

  1. We’re obviously on the same wavelength (I’ve been blogging about Advent calendars this morning). Still hoping that Marmite are going to bring out their own Advent calendar but it’s getting a bit late in the day for that!
